With the turning of the calendar to a new year and a new decade it’s a time in which we are confronted with thoughts about the rapid passage of time, the brevity of life and the meaning of it all if indeed there is any. This very question is in The Book of Ecclesiastes so it seems there is no better time to do a study on this book. It’s not a favorite book for many, not one taught for obvious reasons, but if we believe all scripture is inspired by God and is profitable for instruction and edification then it should not be ignored though it’s unpopular and difficult. Not all scripture is equally important but non-the less we can’t ignore these portions scripture.
